March 8, 2007 - The United City of Yorkville and Engineering Enterprises, Inc. accepted the American Public Works Association Chicago Metro Chapter Project of the Year Award for Water Works System Improvements in the category "Environmental, $10 to $100 Million".

In response to extensive projected growth, the United City of Yorkville retained the services of EEI to evaluate its Water Works System; assist with obtaining financing; provide planning, design, and construction services; and furnish start-up assistance for improvements that would more than double the size of the City's Water Works System.

• 3 - 1,000 gpm Deep Water Supply Wells
• 3 Cation Exchange Treatment Facilities
• 3 Elevated Water Storage Tanks
• Booster Pumping/Pressure Reducing Valve Stations
• 1 Pressure Reducing Valve Station
• Raw and Finished Water Main Improvements
• SCADA System

Project Accomplishments:

• Improved water quality associated with radium and hardness
• Utilized multiple funding sources enabling all 18 projects to be completed without raising taxes or water rates of the City`s residents
• Improved system redundancy and reliability
• Instituted Citywide building design standards
• Added two additional pressure zones
